Oscar "Snooks" Reeves

Oscar “Snooks” Reeves, age 98 of Floral died Friday, June 1, 2012 at his home. He was born February 14, 1914 at Floral, Arkansas to Rufus and Mattie DeLoach Reeves. He was a sawmill worker having been employed at Dossett Lumber Co. in Floral and Martin Lumber Co. in Concord and a farmer. In the Floral community he was well known for always being willing to help no matter what the job was in the Pine Grove Cemetery. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ethel Davis Reeves, a son, Oran Wayne Reeves a daughter, Joyce Reeves Aunspaugh, six brothers, Theodore Reeves, Henry Reeves, Brad Reeves, Nolan Reeves, Leegrand Reeves and A.C. Reeves and a sister Vernie Elms.

Survivors include a son, Allen Reeves and wife Lucille of Floral, two daughters, Jetta Kallam and husband, Jerry of Cabot, Tonya Main and husband Ervin of Quitman, a brother, Hasten Reeves of Grand Junction, Colorado, a sister, Ola Jane Phillips of Wolf Bayou, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will begin Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Randall Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Plains Cemetery located at Pleasant Plains with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral service of Batesville.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Russell Reeves, James Aunspaugh, Jarrod Main, Jeffery Main, Shawn Reeves and Brandon Reed.

Honorary pallbearers are Lisa Jones, Faron Duncan, Alan Jeffrey and Carlos Moorehead.
