Willie E. Millsaps

Willie E. Millsaps, age 67 of Pleasant Plains died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at a Searcy hospital. He was born February 25, 1945 at Searcy, Arkansas to Charles and Bertie Gamblin Millsaps. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in Vietnam, retired from Entergy in 2003, was a Mason and member of the Cornerstone Lodge #511, a member of the Pleasant Plains VFW Post 10007 and various other organizations. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy Beard Millsaps, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Carla Ward and husband Jeff of Floral and Connie Johnston of Alaska, two brothers, Tommy Millsaps and Jerry Millsaps both of Oklahoma, one sister Frances Sanders of Conway, five grandchildren, Kecia Bonds of Prim, Branson Ward of Floral, Willie Ward of Batesville, Avu Johnston and Caleb Johnston both of Palmer, Alaska, five great grandchildren, Bentley Pearrow, Keiley Bonds and Addiley Bonds and Kensley Bonds all of Prim and Willie-Ray Ward of Batesville, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will begin Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Jackson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairplay Cemetery located at Malvern with Bro. Jerry Millsaps officiating. Military honors will follow the graveside service. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m with Masonic Funeral Rites beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Ken Millsaps, Nick Sanders, Alex Sanders, Randall Gilbert, Willie Ward and Branson Ward.

Honorary pallbearer is Richard Beard.
