Tom R. Johnson, 78, of Batesville died Friday, July 13, 2007 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born May 31, 1929 in Batesville to Orval and Jeffrey (Swaims)Johnson. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, a retired lawn mower repairman in California and a member of the Jubilee Family Church in Batesville. Tom Johnson, with his wit, wonderful sense of humor and sparkling personality, will live on through his wife, children and grandchildren. Tom's woodworks in the form of a Jelly Bean Machine has brightened up the lives of literally hundreds throughout the world.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Krall.Survivors include his wife, Elaine Johnson of the home; three sons, Mike Johnson of Louisville, Texas, Mark Johnson of Wentzville, Missouri, and Pat Johnson of Bourbon, Missiouri; one daughter, Jayme Johnson of Cabot; two brothers, Jack Johnson and Kyle Johnson both of California; one sister, Shirley Davenport of California; four grandchildren, Shalaine Johnson and Jamie Johnson both of Bourbon, Missouri and Jake Johnson and Staci Johnson both of Wentzville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 2:30 P.M. at the Jubilee Church in Batesville.
