Bill Hawkins

Bill Hawkins Jr. age 50 of Batesville died Monday August 13, 2007 at his home. He was born August 24, 1956 at Cleveland, MS to Bill and Jean Hawkins. He was an instruments and control technician for Entergy Independence Plant at Newark for 25 years, a member of IBEW, associated with ICYAA for several years and served as president of the Babe Ruth Association for 3 years. He was of the Baptist faith.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ethel and Elizabeth King and paternal grandparents, Sellie and Lela Hawkins.Survivors include his wife Donna Hawkins of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Bree and Wesley Burruss of Bradford and Amber and Justin Russell of Batesville, his parents Bill and Jean Hawkins of Jonesboro, one sister Corrine Bell of Pine Bluff, two granddaughters, Lauren Burruss and Emma Burruss both of Bradford, one nephew, John Bell of Jonesboro and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Thursday August 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Kyler Cemetery located at Southside with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Wednesday August 15, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Roger Meeler, Ricky Nail, Bubba Ashcraft, John Fuqua, Marty Duncan and John Bell.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. J. R. Baker, Dr. Manoj Agarwal, Dr. David Posey, Dr. Robert Walton, John H. Bell, Wesley Burruss, Justin Russell and employees of Entergy Independence Plant at Newark.
