Joe Carreiro, age 78of Cave City died Tuesday August 28,2007 at the Cave City Nursing Home in Cave City. He was born October 25,1928 at New Bedford,MA to Joe Carreiro Sr. and Liduina Amoral(Couto) Carreiro. He was a United States Marine Veteran and a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded a Bronze Star Medal. He graduated from Arkansas College (now Lyon College) in Batesville and he went on to recieve his Doctorate degree from Arknsas State University in Jonesboro. He was a buyer for Aerojet in Batesville, owner/operator of Joe's Market in Cave City and a computer business instructor at gateway technical College in Batesville. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ernest and Geneva Burge, four brothers Abel Carreiro,David Carreiro,Leonard Carreiro and Ernest Carreiro,two sisters Ezaura Wardlow and Lucy Jadlowic and one grandaughter Andrea Carreiro.Survivors include his wife of forty-eight yearsAnna Lee(Burge) Carreiro of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law JOdy and Debbie Carreiro of Little Rock and Major Allan Abel and Racheal Carreiro of Springfield, VA, two daughters and sons-in-law jennifer and Gary cook of jonesboro and Martha and Paul Barrett of Batesville, two brothers Louis Carreiro of Interlachen, FL and edwin Carreiro of Tampa, FL, eight grandchildren Jessica Carreiro of Little Rock, Joshua Cook of Jonesboro, Emily Barret of Batesville, Amanda Carreiro of Little Rock, Lindsey Barret of Batesville, Jordan Cook of Jonesboro, Trey carreiro and Christian Carreiro both of Springfeild, VA, several neices and nephews and a host of other relatives and friendsPallbearers will be Doug Brown, Charles Burge, Gary Perkey, Warren Gene Stout, Dr Ron Simpson and Don Tomlinson. Honarary pallbearers are Steele Burge, Leland Meskimen, Wes Miller, Tommie Masner, Dr. Ralph Ruby, Dr. George Foldesey, Bro Jeff Holland and Jonathan Simmons.
