Archie Hardy McBride

Archie Hardy McBride age 88of Southside died Tuesday October 9, 2007 at theWhite River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born May 13, 1919 at Rosie, Arkansas to Samuel Forrest and Virgie (Coker) McBride. He was a lifelong carpenter, a retired bridge foreman for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, a member of the DAV in Pfeiffer and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Southside.He was preceded in death by his parentgs, two sons. J.W. Merriman and Chuckie Meriman, one daughter, Sharon Ann Gifford, one sister, Furby Lutner and two grandsons, Russell Merriman and Billy Joe Sample.Survivors include his wife Jocie McBride of Salado, five sons, Shelby Dean McBride of Locust Grove, Charles 'Buddy' McBride of Siloam Springs, Jimmy McBride of Cuna, Idaho, Rick Myers of Salinas, CA and Donnie McBride of Rosie, three daughters Shirlee Borelli of Nampa Idaho, Mari Ellen Driskill of Southside and Dorthy Barnes of Salado, four brothers, Avner McBride of Rosie, Deliva McBride of Salado, Oran McBride of O'Neal and Johnny McBride of Salado, one sister, Gertrue Moser of Sandtown, twenty seven grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Saturday October 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salado Baptist Church at Salado with Bro. David Wesley officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Friday October 12, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Marty Harmon, Jimmy Merriman, D. J. McBride, Bryan McBride, Chuckie Harmon and Michael Moody.Honorary pallbearers are Employees of Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and Employees of the White River Medical Center.
