Donovan R. 'Donny' Landers, age 48 of Batesville died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at a Little Rock hospital. He was born November 14, 1959 at Batesville, Arkansas to Naman R. and Ina Mae (Williams) Landers. He had worked for Kroger in Batesville for thirty-one years and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his son. He was a member of the Desha First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, was a back-up song leader and had served as a Sunday school teacher.He was preceded in death by his father and an infant daughter, Carissa Marie Landers.Survivors include his wife, Ivy (Ring) Landers and one son Joshua Landers both of the home, his mother Ina Mae Landers of Batesville, one sister Debbie Shipman of Yellville, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Desha First Baptist Church located in Desha with Bro. Troy Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery located in Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.Visitation will begin Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sellers, Dale Simpson, Frankie Lee, Commie Loggains, John Ed Smith, Tony Carter and Jason Cordell.Honorary pallbearers are the Employees of Kroger in Batesville and Dr. Bob Slaughter and Staff.
