Barbara Wray Marney Gillmore

Barbara Wray Marney Gillmore was born June 11, 1941, in Wiseman, Arkansas.  Barbara passed away at her home in Charlotte on August 15, 2019, at the age of 78.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband J.D. Gillmore; her parents Bonom B. Marney and Alene Deal Marney; and her three sisters Joyce Moore, Carreta Smith, and Bonnie Jeffrey.

Barbara is survived by her five children John D. Gillmore (Tammy), Christopher Gillmore (Becky), Marney Gillmore (Brenda), Kimberly Gillmore Cole (Danny), and Kelly Gillmore Jackson (John).

She is lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren Julie Butcher, Nathan Gillmore, Holly Gillmore, Heather MacKenzie, Stephanie Walker, Ryan Gillmore, Lexie Gillmore, Turner Gillmore, Katie McGee, Matthew Mitchell, Haley Cole, Torrie Taylor, Tonyia Platt, Natalie Jackson, Brody Jackson, and J.D. Rowan Jackson.

Barbara is also remembered by her 16 great-grandchildren Brennan, Bailey, and Blaze Butcher; Kaleb, Amelia, Madelyn, and Samuel MacKenzie; Addie, Grady, and Claire Walker; Cooper Gillmore; Grayer and Maggie Taylor; and Zaelyn, Emery, and Harrison Platt.  

She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Shirley Reinhardt and Lucy Harris, one brother-in law, Harold Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Barbara enjoyed quilting, reading, and spending time with her family.  Barbara always worked in the home as a stay-at-home mom to her five children while her husband served in the Navy.  When they returned to Arkansas, she loved visits from her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the large family gatherings.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Toon officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery located near Sulphur Rock.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Nathan Gillmore, Ryan Gillmore, Turner Gillmore, Matthew Mitchell, Brody Jackson, and Kaleb MacKenzie.
