Barbara Jane Penn

Barbara Jane Penn, 83, of Cave City passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 in Cave City. She was born on August 10, 1939 in Cave City to the late Ervin and Alma Lassiter. She was retired from Cave City Schools and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cave City. Barbara enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She also loved her dog Kiwi.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Penn; one brother, Paul Lassiter; and a granddaughter, Amy Penn.

She is survived by her son Greg Penn (Cheryl) of Cave City; her daughter, Becky Marlin of Evening Shade; one brother, Calvin “Red” Lassiter of Cave City; five grand children, Brandon Penn (Beth), Travis Penn (Brittany), Bevin Marlin (Kayla), Kaitlyn Penn and Dakota Dale; nine great grandchildren plus one on the way; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cave City with Ron Canard officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Penn, Travis Penn, Bevin Marlin, Dakota Dale, Bradley Penn and Lane Penn.

Honorary pallbearers are David and Dana Penn, Michael and Sarah Lassiter and Eric and Kandi Johnson.

Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
