Beverly Ann Adams

Beverly Ann Burns Adams passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. She was born March 2, 1950 to Charlie Paige Burns and Alice Mae Burns from Grand Chain, Illinois.   She graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Illinois in 1968.  She met her sweetheart and the love of her life, David Earl Adams on Elco Hill in Elco, Illinois on July 4, 1969.  They were married on December 7, 1969.  He was called to pastor just months after marriage and pastored in Olmstead, Illinois, Smithland, Kentucky, Duggar, Indiana and was in Batesville, Arkansas for 37 years.  David and Beverly had Davina Renea on August 19, 1971 and Dwayne Ray on October 28, 1981 however he passed 3 days later.  A young boy was born a couple weeks earlier and became their so called adopted son, Jacob Robert Long.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, David Adams; her son, Dewayne Ray; her parents, Charlie and Alice and two brothers, Odell and Kenny Burns.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Davina  Cone and her husband Thomas Anthony Cone of Bloomingdale, Georgia; two grandsons, Adam Dewayne Cone and Thomas Adrian Cone; two brothers, Gene Burns of Dothan, Alabama and Bob Burns of Calvert City, Kentucky; two sisters, Blanche Thorn of Marion, Illinois and Marilyn Raglin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Beverly was a sales person by trade, she sold Tupperware and Home Interior for years, but was a servant by heart.  She helped her husband to pastor in every way she could, from teaching to singing to playing piano.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Kevin Pleasant and Don Pollard officiating    Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery Mausoleum in Batesville.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Long, Adam Cone, Adrian Cone, David Pleasant, Matthew Long, Justin Tharp and Kenny Tharp.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to www.Heritage.College/give Beverly Adams.  Both her grandsons have expressed that they want to be like their Grandpa Adams.
