Carlton Albert Davis, 82, of Evening Shade died Thursday, June18, 2026.

Born December 11, 1943 in Wytheville, Virginia to Glenn C. Davis and Lucy M. Davis, he was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Evening Shade. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and “Grandad.” He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who loved his country, gardening, carpentry, and gospel music.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Davis; two brothers, Cadwell Davis and Wesley Davis; one sister, Ellen Shockley; and one grandson, James Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Shelly Davis of Evening Shade; oneson, Carl Davis and wife Ashley of Russellville; three step-children, Wesley Sharp of Fayetteville, Adam Sharp and wife Angela of Greenbrier, Haley Stout and husband Matthew of Greenbrier; one sister, Anita Adams of Austinville, Virginia; twonephews, Wade Adams of Virginia, and Samuel Shockley of North Carolina; sixteen grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones (Blake), Tripp Nicholson (Colby), Carson Davis, Cameron Pusch (Ben), Taylor Worthing (Johnathen), Kennedy Davis, William Sharp(April), Bailey Tillery (Devin), Colton Sharp (Amy), Caleb Sharp, Ethan Sharp, Jolene Stout, Elam Stout, Whitley Sharp,Zane Austin, and Luke Austin; nine great-grandchildren, Blakely Jones, Brielynn Jones, Mason Nicholson, Reylynn Nicholson, Arabelle Sharp, Drake Sharp, Scarlet Sharp, Everly Sharp, and Valerie Sharp; one bonus son, Michael Sewell; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 24, 2026, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Evening Shade with Bro. Ken Vonk and Van Johns officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery of Evening Shade.

Pallbearers will be Blake Jones, Johnathen Worthing, William Sharp, Colton Sharp, Caleb Sharp, and Ethan Sharp.

 Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Sewell, Wade Adams, Samuel Shockley, and Kennedy Davis.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel.
