Carolyn Sue Wilson, 83, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 in Pleasant Plains, AR. She was born December 17, 1942 in Floral, Arkansas at her parent’s home. She met Allen Douglas (Doug) Wilson in the seventh grade, and their love story began. They were married for 64 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she taught in the first Vacation Bible School and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Carolyn enjoyed teaching Sunday School and working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sula Allgood; her father and mother-in-law, Leslie and Hester Wilson; two brothers, Billy Allgood (Anna) of Floral, AR and Paul Allgood (Sharon) of Paris, MO; her sister, Virginia Allgood of Floral, AR; her sister-in-law, Louise Todd (Henry) of Pleasant Plains, AR; and her son in law, Travis Wood of Pleasant Plains, AR.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Wilson of the home; her daughter, Michele VanWinkle (Johnny) of Pleasant Plains, AR; two grandchildren, Jacob Wood (Lauren) of Conway, AR and Seth Wood of Jonesboro, AR; three great grandchildren, Leighton Wood, Harrison Wood, and Summer Wood; two nieces, Connie Bartley (Eddie) of Floral, AR and Allison Allgood of Columbia, MO; four nephews, Michael Allgood of Paris, MO, Steve Todd of Aurora, MO, Mike Todd of Jonesboro, AR, and Eddie Todd (Sandra) of Harrison, AR; along with several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Fortson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Floral.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville, AR.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Wood, Seth Wood, Eddie Todd, Mike Todd, Steve Todd, and Eddie Bartley.

Honorary pallbearers are Johnny VanWinkle, Michael Allgood, Tim Ramsey, Kenny Staggs, Phillip Sexton, and Matt Norris.

A special thank you to Dr. Andy Davidson, Approve Home Health, Caring Hands Hospice, and Superior Senior Care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund or White River Health Foundation Oncology Expansion.
