Colonel D. Marlin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born June 13, 1940 in Cave City, Arkansas to Jessie and Ollie Mae Willis Marlin. He was retired from the Arkansas Forestry Commission and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Ruil, Tommy, Ernest, Mordecai, Melachi and Cannon Marlin and four sisters, Zelma Crumley, Bertie Wilson, Allene Davis and Lois Stout.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Louise (Lewis) Marlin of the home; two sons, Billy Marlin and David Marlin (Jennifer) both of Bono; one granddaughter, Amanda Fuqua of Lake City; one sister, Donnie Ring of Batesville; one sister-in-law, Joy Marlin of Cave City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be Friday, March 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Steven Martin and Bro. Ronald Marlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Stout, Bobby Stout, Larry Wilson, Gary Wilson, Scott Marlin and Ricky Ring.
Honorary pallbearers are Bill Lewis, Danny Crumley, Ernie Marlin, Marty Miller, Kevin McDoniel and Michael Lewis.
