Connie Jo Headley

Connie Jo Schmitt Headley, 69, of Sidney, AR passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at her home. She was born June 30, 1953 in Wiesbaden, Germany to James and Dorothy (Bollhoefer) Schmitt. She worked for GDX and the Highway Department for many years. She enjoyed waitressing for several years especially at Buttercups. She considered the Buttercups team as her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she also enjoyed her many trips with her nephew, Chad Presser and her best friend Bert. She loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening, baking cookies for her babies and giving out some great knowledge. She was a member of the Cave City Country Church of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Cody McKay; and two sisters, Debbie Presser and Darline Hastings.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, James Headley of the home; one daughter, Mandy Rhoades (Michael) of Sidney; two brothers, Chris Chance (Lynn) of Sandtown and Forest Chance (Loraine) of Bethesda; one sister, Jamesetta Carter (Tony) of Sandtown; four grandchildren, Skyler McKay, Michael Rhoades Jr., Brittany Stevens and Faith Barnes; two great grandchildren, Hunter McKay and Octavia McKay; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cave City Country Church of God with Allen Brown, Bobby Sanders and Mike Higginbottom officiating. There will be a burial at a later date at the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Sandtown.

Honorary pallbearers are Michael Rhoades, Michael Rhoades Jr., Terence Carter, Josh Chance, Josh Cartwright, Raymond Moore, Chad Presser, Keyleigh Presser, Michelle Hastings, Donnie Presser, James Presser, Leah Carpenter and King Haven.

Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
