Dearl Doyne Dawson passed away Friday, July 15, 2022. He was born August 13, 1936. He was the fourth of five boys born to Robert and Faye Dawson of Center, Arkansas. He loved his family very much. He didn’t discipline them very much and left that up to Dorothy. Dearl loved to golf, play his guitar, play games on the computer, and putter around in the yard, on the car and woodworking. Most of all he loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs on TV.

Dearl and Dorothy were married at Trumann, Arkansas on March 31, 1956 and moved to Wichita, Kansas. Shortly thereafter Dearl began working for Wichita Manufacturing Plant, then Boeing. He began working for Sutherland Lumber Co. in Wichita and was then transferred to Kansas City, Missouri. He was promoted to Manager and was sent to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 1 ½ years he was sent back to Wichita as a District Manager where he spent the rest of his 43 working years. Dearl and Dorothy moved to Edmond, Oklahoma shortly after Dearl retired in 2000 where they have lived since.

Dearl was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Max Dawson, Winston Dawson, Johnny Dawson and Gibbins Dawson; and one son, Tim Dawson of Nixa, Missouri who passed away on January 15, 2022.

Dearl is survived by his wife Dorothy Parvin Dawson of 66 years; son, Mark Dawson (Kim) of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter, Serena Shurtz (Dan) of Goddard, Kansas; his grandchildren, Nicholas Murray of Atlanta, Georgia, Jerica Brinkhoff (Jeff) of Nixa, Missouri, Ciera Shaw (Connor) of Colombia, Missouri, Alex Dawson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Amy McNabb (Austin) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jackson Shurtz, Maddox Shurtz and Ava Shurtz all of Goddard, Kansas; and 8 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
