Dorothy M. Thomas

Dorothy M. Thomas, 85 of Smithville died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Cave City. She was born September 24, 1933 in Cushman, Arkansas to Jess and Havel (Holloway) Burns.  She was married to Melvis A. “Doc” Thomas on March 14, 1953 in Paris, Illinois.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Bettis Town Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Gerald Wayne Thomas; daughter-in law, Deborah Thomas; granddaughter, Stephanie Thomas and sister, Wanda Wright.

Survivors include; five grandchildren, Brian (Crystal) Thomas, Craig (Lucy) Thomas, Keith (Alissa) Thomas, Stephen (Somer) Thomas and Emily Thomas; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Donna Thomas; siblings, Katherine Young, Jenni (Larry) Tyler, Janet (David) Thomas, Rachel Brown and Robert Burns; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bettis Town Church of Christ with C.C. Baird officiating. Burial will follow in the Spotts Cemetery located at Poughkeepsie with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Thomas, Craig Thomas, Stephen Thomas, David Thomas, Charles Breckle and Robert Burns.

Honorary pallbearers are Emily Thomas, Jennings Holloway, Kenneth Coats, Larry Tyler, Tommy Morgan, Mike Stavely, Anthony Stavely and Stan Jones.
