Duane Sturgeon

Duane Sturgeon, 71 of Cave City passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at his home.  He was born June 21, 1950 in Mexico, Missouri to Kenneth Edgar and Betty Virginia (Holt) Sturgeon.  He was a retired truck driver having worked for various companies including Future Fuel, Townsends and most recently Independence County.  He was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one son Jasson Sturgeon (Kavonda) of Batesville; two daughters, Letha Elizabeth Cray (Rod) of Atlanta, Georgia and Jayme Sturgeon (Kayla) of Little Rock; one brother, Gary Sturgeon (Linda) of North Charleston, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Tye Lance Sturgeon (Hannah) of Evansville, Wisconsin, Leshae Sturgeon and India Hayes both of Atlanta, Georgia and Melodie Vance (Jordan) of El Paso, Texas; one great grandchild, Kru Vance of El Paso, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Glen McKay officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery located near Cushman.

Visitatio will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Scott Spicer, Scott Bailey, Brian Presley, Gary Sturgeon, Tye Sturgeon, Tom Tucker, Andy Hubbs and Rod Cray.

Honorary pallbearers are Jasson Sturgeon, Letha Cray, Jayme Sturgeon, Bobby Shepherd, Glen Sanders.
