Eddie Wright Ranew Jr.

Eddie Wright Ranew Jr., 87, of Cave City, Arkansas passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Cave City. He was born July 27, 1938 in Trenton, Florida to Eddie and Bessie Ranew. He was an environmental engineer and a carpenter. He was a member of the White Drive Baptist Church. Eddie enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed hunting fossils and arrowheads, spending time with his beloved family and going to church. Eddie’s number one goal was teaching people to give them a brighter future in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Ranew; his son, Darren Ranew (Karen); his daughter, Carrie Hipp (David); five grandchildren, Matthew Hipp, Aaron Ranew, Alannah Hays, Micah Ranew and Emaly Ranew; six great grandchildren, Caitlynn Hipp, Westin Hipp, Caylee Hipp, Cassie Hipp, Adelyn Hays and Paisley Hays; along with other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Chapel on the campus of Lyon College.
