Elmer Thomas Gore III

Elmer Thomas Gore III, 75, of Cave City, Arkansas departed this life on March 11, 2024.  He was born on May 4, 1948 in Moran, Texas to Evelyn and Elmer Gore, Jr.   

He humbly served in the United States Army from 1966-1972. Having received various medals, such as the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.  

For his career path, he was a lineman and loved to work storms and teach others.  He was hard on the men that worked under him but taught them not only line work but also many other life lessons.  He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lynette and a sister, Patty Gore.

Survivors include his children, Waylon Gore (Cherie) and Christal Gore both of Granbury, Texas, Daniel Gore (Diana) of Cave City, Arkansas and Renee Korkis (Kal) of Melbourne, Arkansas; two sisters, Roberta Lewis (Joe) of Desdemona, Texas and Winona Davis (Jerry) of Lenexa, Kansas; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard officiating.

Burial will follow at the Cave City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tonni Herring, Nathan Herring, Mike Sanders, Jason Byram, Wes Byram and Joey Evartt.
