Geraldine Parsons

Geraldine Parsons age 85 of Saffell died Tuesday, March 12, 2019. She was born March 20, 1933 at Saffell, Arkansas to Raymond Theodore and Edith Alma (Godwin) Melton. She was a retired Assembly of God minister. She enjoyed writing songs and poetry, was a fine seamstress and a great cook, but her greatest accomplishment was her ministering of the word to the churches she pastored and to those who loved to talk of the Lord.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell Parsons; sister, Verlon Daggett; nephew, Terry Melton and great nephew, Carson Melton.


Survivors include two brothers, Delbert Melton (Modine) of Saffell and Elbert Melton (Lauraetta) of Grange; nephews, Howard Melton, Russell Daggett and Randell Daggett; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside services will be Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at the Hopewell Cemetery at Cord with Bro. Charles Davis officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.


Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2019 from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Buford Eagan, Howard Melton, Alan Adams, Steve Birmingham, Roger Randolph and Jason Bristow.
