James A. Anderson

James A. Anderson, age 91, of Calamine, Arkansas passed away Monday, August 24, 2026 at Batesville, Arkansas. He was born April 9, 1935 in Calamine, Arkansas to Leslie James Anderson and Aenon Milligan Anderson. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years and of the Presbyterian faith. He enjoyed taking care of his family, antique cars, Cadillacs, and cattle farming.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and mother of his children, Pauletta Anderson; and his second wife, Pru Anderson.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Garner Anderson; three sons, James Allen Anderson (Brenda) of Strawberry, Arkansas, Mike Anderson of Cave City, Arkansas and Randy Anderson of Strawberry, Arkansas; one daughter, Paula Hoggard (Paul) of Sulphur Rock, Arkansas; one step son, Bobby Garner (Ann); one step daughter, Donna Cole; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville, Arkansas with Bro Curt Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Milligan Campground Cemetery in Strawberry, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bryon Hoggard, Brandon Hoggard, Andy Anderson, Cameron Anderson, Misty Ingram, Jamie Anderson, and Charlie Vaugier.
