James "Jim" Wright Rutledge

James “Jim” Wright Rutledge, a resident of Batesville, Arkansas his entire life, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the age of 80 ½ years. Jim was an avid sportsman, and until recently, was always ready to hunt or fish almost any game in any weather.

Jim loved Arkansas, Batesville, and his country. He was a devoted husband to his late wife Ramona, who preceded in him in death in 2021. Jim was born, raised, and spent all of his days on Harrison Street in the heart of Batesville. He was a collector of pocket knives, ball caps, and stray cats. His greatest weakness was Coca Cola memorabilia. His favorite past times were growing vegetables and attending auctions seeking more Coke items.

Jim enjoyed a lengthy, one-job career in Maintenance. He worked for General Tire, later known as GDX.

Jim is survived by his two nephews, Bob Dix and Mike Dix both of California.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel at 6:00 p.m.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be held Monday, August 31, 2026 at the Center Grove Cemetery near Charlotte.
