John Edward Clements

Batesville

John Edward Clements, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones April 24, 2025 in Batesville, Arkansas.

John was born and raised in Batesville. His mother signed for him to join the United States Air Force at the age of 17. During his 22 years of service, he was stationed in Alaska, California, Florida, the Philippines, Tennessee and Saudi Arabia. John retired as a Master Sergeant and completed his degree in computer sciences. He then worked at Kennedy Space Center during the height of the Shuttle program. When he retired, he returned to Batesville to be closer to his elderly mother.

John enjoyed working in his garden and helping friends with their computer issues. He was an active member of Generations Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Jeannie Clements and Bobbie Arndt, stepdaughter Terry (Paul) Norman, grandchildren Audrey (Ben) Morris and Robert (Krista) Norman and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ila Clements, his parents, John Lawrence Clements and Zelma Clairiene Scott, sister Ruby Fair, brother Henry Clements, infant sister LaVada Clements, daughter Teresa Clements and granddaughter Avery Norman.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at the Generations Church, 290 S. Central Ave., Batesville, AR 72501.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, of which John was a long-time supporter.
