John W. Evans

John W. Evans, 89 of Banner died Wednesday, October 23, 2019. He was born July 26, 1930 in Banner, Arkansas to Albert Franklin and Mary Magdalene Martin Evans. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Church in Scotland where he had served as a deacon. He loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Marcia Evans and two brothers, Tommy Evans and Eldon Evans.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Jacobs Evans of the home; one son, Frank Evans (Janie) of Banner; two step-sons, James Harrison and Chris Harrison (Pat) both of Scotland; two daughters, Mary Evans Calhoun (Stacy) of Floral and Martha Webb of Sheridan; one brother, Eugene Evans (Gailya) of North Little Rock; two sisters, Ellene Cox of Floral and Mary Dene Rhodes (Virgil) of Overland Park, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great -great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Cowboy Church in Pleasant Plains with Jeremy Cox officiating.
