Karen Kay Watkins

Karen Kay “Butterfly” Watkins, 73 of Batesville died Saturday, September 19, 2020. She was born August 29, 1947 in Mayville, North Dakota to Elmer and Louella Guttorson Jorgensen.  She was a retired truck driver for Dowell Transport in Batesville and a member of Surrounded Hill Missionary Baptist Church near Newport.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bobby Jorgensen and one sister, Marlene Fugleburg.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Shelton “Hilltopper” Watkins of the home; three brothers, Laurel Jorgensen of Mayville, North Dakota, Ronnie Jorgensen of Northwood, North Dakota and Carmen Jorgensen of Montana; one sister, Julie Thompson of Hatton, North Dakota; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Duane Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Cave City.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m until service time at the funeral home.
