Larry Neal Dowell

Larry Neal Dowell passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026. Larry was born in Batesville, Arkansas on October 1, 1952 to Evelyn (Biard) Dowell and Alvin Neal Dowell. He was the youngest of four brothers, Alvin (Tucker) Dowell, Eugene Dowell, and Danny Wayne Dowell (deceased). He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a life long member of the Church of Christ, a kind friend and the best father. He served his country with 6 years in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Dale; with deployments from the Arctic Circle to Western Europe. Larry returned to Batesville after his military discharge and settled in Bethesda where he grew up. A place he always called home. He worked for Midwest Lime from 1975 to 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Danny Wayne Dowell.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine Quearry Dowell; two children, Amanda Dowell of the home and Keith Dowell (Tabby) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three grandsons, Payton Dowell of Judsonia, Arkansas, and Aiden and Gabe Dowell of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one great grandson, Lucas Neal Dowell of Judsonia, Arkansas; and many cousins and friends.

Larry lived a quiet life among his friends; always ready to help where he could. He loved his God and his home. He was devoted to his family.

He was much beloved and will be greatly missed. See you on the other side. Rest well.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
