Margaret Jane Rounds

Margaret Jane (Dale) Rounds, 82, of Charlotte, Arkansas, went to be with Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Batesville, Arkansas on February 5, 1943 to Earl and Ruby (Moody) Dale. She grew up in many places, attending and graduating in 1961 from Mount Pleasant High School. Margaret married her husband, Johnny Mack Rounds, Sr., in Rosie, Arkansas on April 10, 1964. They have been married for 61 years with two children born into this marriage. Margaret was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and was known to everyone as “Nanu.” She was an excellent cook and spent many hours in the kitchen providing for her family as she was very family orientated. She loved watching cooking shows and enjoyed hosting events for her family and friends and participating in neighborhood gatherings. She was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan and loved watching sports of all kinds, especially her children and grandchildren’s activities. Margaret’s husband and family were her greatest blessings. She was like a “mother hen” with her chicks (kids and grandkids) always keeping them close. She gave total love and care to them and never felt it was a sacrifice. Margaret and Johnny enjoyed going on short trips and vacations with their friends, Bob and Shirley Weaver. She also enjoyed yard sales and finding bargains. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church of Moorefield, AR where she loved wearing her Sunday hats! Margaret was loved and appreciated and will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends. 

She worked at several factories and businesses in the Batesville area including Lifeplus, International Shoe Factory, Banquet/ConAgra Foods, Barnett Brothers Store, GenCorp and White Rodgers. Preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Ruby Dale, Grandparents, Joseph and Maggie Moody.

She is survived by her husband Johnny Mack Rounds Sr.; one son, Johnny Rounds, Jr., and wife Trisha; one daughter, Melynda Paul and husband Randy; Grandchildren, Darah Rounds, Johnny Mack “Trey” Rounds III and wife Priscilla, Ryan Paul and wife Savannah, Justin Paul and Chloe. Great Grandchildren; Connor Rounds, Lucas Rounds, Rowan Paul. Three sisters; Louise Caniff, Patricia Daughtry, Earline Griffin and husband James, also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 13, 2025. 2:00 p.m. at Rehobeth Baptist Church in Moorefield with Bro. Roger Crum and Bro. Brandon Jackson officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Weaver Cemetery, 100 Mount Hermon Road.

Visitation will be October 13, 2025, 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Paul, Justin Paul, Johnny “Trey” Rounds III, Johnny Rounds Jr., Peyton Weaver, and Eric Wood.
