Mary Elizabeth Melton

Mary (Fry) Melton, 107 of Mountain Meadows Nursing Home went to be with her Lord on March 28, 2019. She was born February 12, 1912 at Dowdy, Arkansas to Ed and Estella Fry. She was a member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church at Dowdy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 78 years R.E. (Buster) Melton; one son, Bill Melton; three brothers, Orville, Leo and Austin Fry; three sisters, Ruthel Pool, Alice Hensley and Miley Ward and one great granddaughter, Amber Young.

Survivors include one son, Gene Melton (Peggy) of Cord; two daughters, Nedra Forester of Galt, California and Nina Porter of Wichita, Kansas; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Melton of Newark; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church at Dowdy with Bro. Jackie Pickett, Bro. Tracy Grissom and Bro. Dennis Gay officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Justin Melton, Cody Melton, Jeb Melton, Cole Melton, Kantin Melton and Tom Thibault.
