Melvin Douglas Riddle

Melvin Douglas Riddle, 82, of Spring Mill passed away Wednesday June 4, 2025 at Batesville. He was born July 7, 1942 at Winchester, Tennessee to Luther and Catherine Riddle. He was retired from JK Southerland Poultry as well as Batesville Schools and attended Cornerstone Community Church in Cushman. Melvin enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting, fishing and all outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Janey T. Riddle of the home; three sons, Leonard Tharp (Susan) of Spring Mill, Dickey Riddle of Spring Mill, Tommy Riddle of Cushman; one brother, Johnny Riddle (Shana) of Indianapolis, Indiana; one sister, Linda Tilley of Florida; eight grandchildren, Doug Tharp, Kris Tharp, Adam Riddle, Therron Riddle, Nathan Riddle, Kyla Riddle, Kaylee Turner, Erron Riddle; eighteen great grandchildren; his dog Blue along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 6, 2025, 2:00 PM at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Greg Vickery officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery located in Cushman.

Visitation will begin Friday, June 6, 2025 from 1:00 until service time.

Pallbearers will be Doug Tharp, Kris Tharp, Adam Riddle, Therron Riddle, Erron Riddle, Nathan Riddle and Kyla Riddle.
