Paul Wayne Johnson, 86 of Cave City died Friday, November 27, 2020. He was born June 5, 1934 in Emery, Arkansas to Claude and Nellie Lee McLeod Johnson. He was retired from International Shoe Factory in Batesville and the Cave City School District and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served on the Cave City Water Commission and also on City Council for over 30 years. He loved God and Family more than anything. He also enjoyed camping, watching ballgames, talking to and meeting new people, selling watermelons and meeting people from all over the United States, and sitting in his gazebo and watching the traffic. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City where he served as a Deacon and Church Treasurer for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Billy Joe Johnson and Carl Walter Johnson; two sisters, Wanda Jean Garrison and Mauvilene Osborn and a nephew, Carl Wade Osborn.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Liz Felts Johnson of the home; two daughters, Angie Patterson (Jon) and Cyndi Rowlett (Chuck) both of Cave City; five grandchildren, Jaret Patterson (Taryn), Aimee Rowlett, Jacob Patterson, Joseph Patterson and Jace Patterson; one great granddaughter, Elliette Jae Patterson; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cave City Cemetery with Bro. Cedric Etheridge officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers will be Jaret Patterson, Jacob Patterson, Joseph Patterson, Jace Patterson, Jon Patterson, Chuck Rowlett and John Michael Howland.
Covid-19 guidelines will be followed and masks are required.
