Ray Elwood Thompson, 80 of Batesville died Saturday, January 12, 2019. He was born March 18, 1938 at Batesville, Arkansas to Earl and Lillian Thompson. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Thompson; brothers, Ernest Thompson and Sid Thompson and sister, Merle Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Murle Acklin Thompson of the home; son, Andy Thompson; daughters, Sherry Adams (Oran) of Sidney and Mia Acklin Thompson of the home; grandchildren, Haley Adams, Megan Douglas (Andrew), Haley Lovell, Shelby Lovell, Megan Curtis, Wesley Moses and Andrea Donahue; one great grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Ira Brokaw and Gene Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery near Gainesboro.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Richard Reynolds, Oran Adams, Landon Reynolds, Carl Lovell, Gene Reynolds and Allen Brokaw.
