Raymond B. Presley, age 85, of Cave City, passed away September 21, 2025. Born on May 1, 1940, in Desha, AR, he was the youngest of eight children born to Eugene Alfred Presley and Jessie McClendon Presley.
Raymond “Chick” Presley grew up in Desha and graduated from high school in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force, with assignments in Iceland, Delaware, and Alabama. He was a gifted athlete and played baseball and basketball for the Air Force. After his military service, he married Caroline Lou Pinkston and they lived in Anaheim, California. There, he worked in a boat shop and was a member of the Pile Driver’s Union before relocating with his family to Cave City in 1971. He worked as a painting contractor and owned Presley Painting for many years. He was passionate about finding hidden treasures at auctions, boating on Greers Ferry Lake, catching huge catfish, gardening and spending quality time with his family and friends.
In retirement, Raymond and Caroline turned their love for auctions into a thriving vintage shop, sharing their passion with the community.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Caroline, and his siblings Harold Presley, Robert Presley, Mac Presley, Lenell Harmon, Frances Allen, Nona Jeffery and Rhoda Dutton.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Curtis (Darrin), and son, Terry Presley (Patricia), and numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 25, 2025, 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Cave City Cemetery.
