Ruby Joann Maupin

Ruby Joann Maupin, 79 of Cave City, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 in Cave City.  She was born December 31, 1943 in Bostic, North Carolina to Fred Morrow and Eunice Pauline Morrow.  She was an electrical engineer, having retired from White Rodgers as well as NASA, and was a member of Cave City First Free Will Baptist Church.

She was an Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting. She was a foster grandparent at Cave City Elementary School for over 10 years, She also enjoyed road trips as well as spending time with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Leroy Maupin Sr; a son, John Thomas Maupin, a daughter, Sharon Tressa Allen; seven brothers, Gene Morrow, Charles Morrow, Joe Morrow, Eddie Morrow, Ronnie Morrow, Jack Morrow and Freddy Morrow and a sister, Mildred Morrow.

Survivors include her son, Leroy Maupin; her daughter, Lyda Jones, a daughter-in-law, Annetta Maupin; a brother, Tommy Morrow; two sisters, Patricia Morrow Hardin and Diane Hubbard; her sister-in-law, Jackie Morrow; five grandchildren, Lyda Jo Turner, Tristen Jones (Cheyenne), Stephanie Wagoner (Kirk), Debra Calderon and Christine Brown Grose; four great-grandchildren, Kaydeem Wagoner, Sicilia Wagoner, Kiefer Wagoner, and Gage Hollister. 

Funeral services will be on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2:00PM at the Cave City First Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Trent Bradley officiating. 

Burial will follow at Powell’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 12:00PM until service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Tristen Jones, Kirk Wagoner, Kaydeem Wagoner, Kiefer Wagoner, Joseph Pearson and Brayden Pearson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lyda Jo Turner, Stephanie Wagoner, Angie Acerra, Cheyenne Malloy, Gage Hollister as well as the staff of Cave City Nursing Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mrs. Ruby to the Cave City Scholoarship Foundation at the Bank of Cave City.
