Velma Haboush

Velma Haboush, 93, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026 in Mountain View, Arkansas. She was born September 23, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William Sanders and Lilli Belle (Adams) Sanders. She was a restaurant owner and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting, cooking, and spreading joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her long time partner, John Ewing; her children, Joey Haboush, George Haboush, and Yasmin Haboush; and her siblings, Opal Kerkhof, Evelyn Gray, Barbara Waits, William Sanders, and Walter R. Sanders.

She is survived by her grandson, O.J. (Lori) Laman; her granddaughter, Sophia Haboush; and one great grandson, Carter Laman.

In accordance with Velma’s wishes, funeral services will be private and held for immediate family only.

Though deeply missed, Velma’s love, kindness, and memory will remain in the hears of all who knew and loved her.
