Violet Peers Schoon

Violet Jean Peers Schoon, 90 of Sidney died Friday, October 2, 2020. She was born March 1, 1930 in Rolfe, Iowa to Albert and Ercell Hicks Peers.  She was a legal secretary until her marriage in 1953 to Glen E. Schoon.  She was a member of the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village.  She enjoyed gardening, crafting, painting and designing clothing

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ercell Hicks Peers; her husband, Glen E. Schoon and three sisters, Wanda Hodgell, Helen Johnson and Audrey Johnson.

Survivors include four sons, Kurt Schoon (Deb) of Scranton, Iowa; Brent Schoon (Cookie) and Neal Schoon both of Bayard, Iowa and Ward Schoon (Shawnee) of Winchester, Kentucky, one daughter, Lynn Darnell of Sidney; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be announced. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
