Wayne Christenberry, 78, of Smithville passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Cave City. He was born August 30, 1945 in Batesville to Jewel and Pauline (Mobley) Christenberry. He was retired from the Arkansas Forestry Commission and was a member of Mt. View Missionary Baptist Church. Wayne enjoyed cooking sorghum and spending time with his great grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Christenberry.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lewis Christenberry of the home; his daughter, Ann Edwardson (Kenneth) of Cave City; two grandchildren, Billy Horton (Amy) of Batesville and April Horton of Cave City; one great grandson, Elijah Horton and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Vance Penn officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will begin Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Mobley, Jeff Nordhook, Michael Mobley, Tommy Thompson, Aaron Mobley and Mark Brightwell.

Honorary Pallbearers are the administration and staff of the Cave City Nursing Home.
