William C. Akins, 92, of Batesville died August 26, 2024 at Batesville. He was born May 26, 1932 at Sulphur Rock to Clint and Stella Akins.

He was a truck driver, a farmer, and a member of the North Heights Church of Christ.

He loved cattle farming, being outdoors, traveling, and watching the Cardinals. He was a loving husband, daddy, and friend. He was Boomer Lee’s #1 buddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of sixty one years, Barbara Jean Akins; one brother, Paul Akins, and three sisters, Virginia Schwab, Nell Waits Hunter, and Betty Jo Martin.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy Akins; one niece, Patsy Jo Craig of Michigan; along with nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery near Moorefield with Bro. Larry Sellers officiating.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Qualls Batesville Funeral Chapel.
