William R. Spence, 82, of Mount Pleasant passed away September 3, 2025 at Mount Pleasant. He was born January 23, 1943 at Charlotte, Arkansas to William and Lois Spence. He was a minister of the Guion Church of Christ for over 20 years, and then became a member of the Melbourne Church of Christ. He loved to hunt (especially all night coon hunting with his dogs), fishing, horses, watching westerns, family, and looking up ancestry, but most of all he loved his Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorris; sister, Kathryn Howard; brother-in-law, Bill Green, and cousin, Johnny Bramblett.
Survivors include his son, Shane (Michelle) Spence; daughters, Lisa Carlon (Paul) and Katrina Spence; sister, Adalene Spence Green; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Aaron, Makenzie, Caleb, Dustin, Justin, and Christina; ten great-grandchildren, Adelynn, Drake, Ryleigh, Gabriel, Alyssa, Kyra, Bishop, Roderick, Nora, and Silas; and special friends, Andrea Martz, Brittnee Donaldson, Johnda Gosnell, Lisa (Donnie) Malott, Chris (Mary Jo) Johnson, and Shonna (Judd) Barlow; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 8, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro Larry Sellers officiating. Burial at Reeves Cemetery following service.

Visitation will begin Monday, September 8, 2025, 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Justin Gillihan, Dustin Gillihan, Wade Donaldson, Jason Manning, Chris Johnson, and Henry Laxton.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Caleb Carlon, Bennie Hutchins, John Laxton, Casey Hightower, Paul Carlon and Aaron Laxton.
