Winnie Grace Coles Johnson, 85, of Batesville died Tuesday, June 17, 2025. She was born on Thursday, September 7, 1939, in Sandtown, Arkansas, to William and Annie (Gaines) Coles. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Batesville and retired from White Rodgers.
Winnie was an extremely kind lady who loved everybody. She was an excellent cook. Everyone loved to come and eat at her table. She was a faithful wife to Kirby, the two of them worked hard and created a life they loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kirby Johnson, brothers: Conway Coles, Alton Coles, Albert Coles, Coy Coles, Troy Coles, Alvin Coles, Preston Coles, Albro Coles, Doyle Coles, and Elisha Coles: and one sister, Mary Ann Matthews.
She is survived by one brother, Lavaughn “Shorty” Coles of Desha; one son, Dub (Fonda) Johnson of Batesville; two daughters, Debbie (Dusty) Cowell of West Lafayette, Indiana; and Donna Johnson of the home. Grandchildren: Sierra (Jarrod) Purcell of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Summer (Tyler) Batson of Batesville, Deann Cowell (Jess) Biddle of Germany, Darci Cowell of Lafayette, Indiana, Denae Cowell of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kayla Johnson (Joel) Rogers of Little Rock, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her favorite cat, Mischief, and her favorite dog, Jax.
Visitation will be held at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Bobby Shepherd and Rev. John High officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dub Johnson, Kevin Coles, Dusty Cowell, Jarrod Purcell, Justin Keister, Corky Anderson and Mark Anderson.
The family would especially like to thank her caregivers for the excellent care they gave: Mandy Franks, Britteny Adkerson, Mary Ann Strain and Legacy Hospice Nurse: Bridgette Wilson.
