Ronald Dean Ross

July 30, 1941 — September 17, 2022

Ronald Dean Ross, 81, of Batesville passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022.  Ron was born July 30, 1941 in Great Bend, Kansas to the late Norton and Therese Ross. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Batesville, Arkansas.

Ron served in the United States Air Force and then was married to the love of his life, LaWanda Lucille Willis Ross, for 53 years.  He retired from Garver Engineers in Little Rock.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he held a variety of leadership positions.  He was very involved with the church and always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.  He enjoyed going to flea markets and antique stores, trains, repairing things, music, dancing, hunting and fishing, anything outdoors, and visiting with friends and family most of all.  No one could put a bigger smile on his face than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend and he will be greatly missed by all.

Ron is survived by six children, daughter, Karen Ross of Batesville; son, Gregory Ross (Paula) of Sheridan; son, Stephen Ross (Jovita) of Kannapolis, NC; daughter, Becky Johnson (Jimmie) of Batesville; son, Philip Ross (Amy) of Russellville; son, John Ross (Catie) of Jonesboro; two brothers; three sisters; eighteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, LaWanda Ross.

Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm Friday, September 23, 2022, at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with a Rosary starting at 7pm.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Saturday, September 24, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Batesville with Monsignor Scott Friend officiating, and followed by interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Strecker, Mike Kemp, Chris Black, Mark Fredricks, Frank Hilbert and John Hayes.

Memorials may be made in honor of Ronald to St Mary's Catholic Church 3800 Harrison Street Batesville Arkansas 72501.

Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
