Our Staff

Heather started working with Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City in September 2017. She moved from Highland to Cave City in 2000 and graduated from Cave City High School in 2011. After graduating high school, Heather attended UACCB and obtained an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She then began working as a teacher's assistant in her best friend's preschool/daycare. After working there for almost a year, Heather began substitute teaching at the Cave City School District where she met Dianne Moore. Dianne's husband Randal was the director for many years here at Qualls Funeral Homes. Heather learned that Randal was seeking a new secretary; she got the job and has been with us ever since. Heather married Trevor Anderson in September 2014. They had their first daughter, Layla Grace in October of 2015. Second daughter, Lynlee Jean was born in April of 2022. She enjoys fishing, and is a true crime fan! She loves cooking, reading, kayaking, listening to podcasts (mostly true crime) and music. Summer is her favorite time of the year. In her spare time Heather loves moments spent with family, especially with her daughters and husband. Heather takes her job as secretary seriously by striving every day to make each and every family we serve 100% happy with our services. She especially takes pride in making sure every video, memorial folder, obituary, etc. is exactly as the family wants.

Elvin Girtman has lived in Independence County most of his life. He is a 1976 graduate of Batesville High School and married his wife, Betty, soon after. Betty passed away in 2011. He has two grown children, Kevin and Teaha. Elvin has one grandson, Conner. He worked for Batesville Funeral Service from 1989-2000 and Willis-Hays Funeral Service from 2000-2004. Elvin fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning his own restaurant in 2004 when he and Betty opened E & B Bigger Burger on Westside, which he ran for fifteen years. We are so privileged to have him back in the funeral business serving our families.

John has been in the funeral business for twenty four years and considers it an honor to serve the area families. He is a licensed funeral director and has been a minister for thirty one years. John is pastor of Floral Baptist Church, a Batesville Kiwanis Club member/board member, a Sharp County Deputy Coroner and serves as an Ambassador for the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce. John lives between Batesville and Cave City on his family's farm, The Haven. He and his wife of twenty eight years, Danita, have four children; Trice, Lillian, Garyn and Chace. They will welcome a daughter in law, Samantha in May 2024. In his spare time, John enjoys hunting, especially bowhunting, fishing, Razorbacks, supporting Cave City Schools, antiquing, all sports, being active in the community and making memories with his family.

One thing that you can say about John is that he loves people. Showing Christ through his life is very important to him. Also, making new friends and eating at hometown food establishments is a HIGHlight of his! John's favorite verse is Hebrews 4:16...Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Eric Hodges has been around the funeral business since he was twenty years old. He was raised and has family all over the Independence/Sharp County areas. He graduated in May 2020 from the Mortuary Science program at Arkansas State University in Mountain Home. He passed his Arkansas State Funeral Directors exam in March 2023 and is newly licensed. Eric strives to serve all our families with dignity and respect. In his spare time, he loves traveling, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Margie has lived in Independence County all of her life. She graduated from Cord-Charlotte Schools and soon after married her husband, Ronnie. Margie and Ronnie have two sons, Brad and Jason. She has eight grandchildren and three step grandchildren. She and Ronnie attend New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, where she is the church pianist. In her spare time, Margie enjoys playing the piano, flowers (especially her Gerbera Daisies and roses), canning, and cooking for the Holidays. She loves Arkansas Razorback Basketball and driving around seeing God's creation.

Roy has been in the funeral business for eleven years and is a licensed funeral director. Roy was raised in Clarendon, AR and served in the United States Navy from 1986-1990. Roy is a Batesville Kiwanis Club member and is an elder at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Roy has a daughter, Shelby who is married to Brett Dodds who welcomed their first child, Asher, in January, which made Roy a proud papa.  In his spare time, Roy enjoys flea marketing and riding side by side with Phyllis. He also enjoys hiking, camping and boating with his father, Roy Sr. who is 82 years young.

John Warnock and his wife of five years, Rasheedah, reside in Evening Shade. John takes care of Roselawn Cemetery, our properties, cemetery set ups and assists on funerals as needed.
